Nickolsky cathedral was built between 1753 and 1762 and located on Nickolsky Square of St. Petersburg. One storey buildings surraunding the cathedral served as accomodations for employees of naval offices and the cathedral was the official place of celebration Russian naval victories. After the revolution of 1917, the cathedral was not closed unllike the most of city cathedrals. It´s name influenced naming surrounding streets, square, market, etc.
