Why Adults go to Disneyland
It’s known as the ‘Happiest Place on Earth’ and certainly we can all understand the appeal of Disneyland for the youngsters. However, every year adults also flock to what is one of the world’s most famous theme parks. Some of them visit with their families, but some come along with no children with them to enjoy all that this exciting attraction has to offer.
What Makes Adults Love Disneyland?
For some adults, a trip to Disneyland is a trip down memory lane, reliving exciting visits as children with their parents and enjoying the memories stirred by the sights, sounds and smells. For others, the trip to Disneyland is a treat to themselves, to satisfy their inner child that was perhaps never lucky enough to be treated to a trip to this haven of happiness in their youth. From the moment a grown up steps through the gates of this magical kingdom, he or she is transported back to a more innocent time, free from the burdens of everyday life. The individual finds him or herself in an environment where guilt free enjoyment of the simple pleasures in life is actively encouraged. Of course, many adults also visit Disneyland to share the experience with their own offspring, watching their children delight in this unique experience being its own reward.
What is There for Adults at Disneyland?
While those who have not visited may believe that this massive theme park is geared towards children in its entirety, this is not in fact, the case. Just take a look at some of the most exciting rides on offer. Some of them carry height restrictions, meaning they are only open to the older visitors to the park. Thrill seekers will love the California Screaming rollercoaster, while those with a more macabre taste should head for the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. Entertainment on offer on the complex also caters for the more mature visitor, with options such as the House of Blues Gospel Brunch and Flambeaux Jazz Club, being aimed exclusively at the older visitor. Adults should be aware, however, that alcoholic drinks are not served in the park proper but are available at the establishments in the adjoining downtown Disney resort. The only exceptions are if you gain membership of the exclusive 33 club or are invited to the park as a guest of an existing member. The waiting list for membership is said to be around 11 years!
Adults Should not Miss a Disneyland Opportunity
If you are travelling in southern California, then a trip to this Anaheim attraction really is something that should not be missed. Those on vacation in the surrounding area will also want to consider getting their car hire sorted and heading on over. No one can explain to you the magic of Disney before you arrive. However, once you are there, you will be surprised at how quickly your adult skepticism falls away and you begin to enjoy the attraction as exactly what it is supposed to be, the ‘Happiest Place on Earth’.
